I remember you guys. I was at Waterloo in the late 60's early 70's. I don't remember exactly. I would have to look it up. Ah, the radical student movement of the University of Waterloo. I did not live in the Gabriel Dumont commune, but the other one near Harvey's. I left for a few reasons. One was a group of guys went to BC and got arrested for shoplifting and somehow this was supposed to be a revolutionary thing. The other reason was that there was a group that thought Charles Manson killing people was somehow a revolutionary act. Wow. Also I remember a sit in at the new faculty lounge where members of the public were invited by the rsm but not told the reason why, or as I think now deliberately used. It was the professors who looked after them and not the fucking Marxists students who I guess were so above the common person. At the time I was into sex. Kind of liked it until it got very boring. I bet no one remembers me. I was a good fuck. Rhondda Kemlo. Kudos. I find this site quite fascinating. Relive with nostalgia.
Hi Rondda, I certainly remember you, and often wonder where you are. I remember you as a very gentle person, and (Charles Manson aside) soft and gentle attitudes did tend to get overwhelmed by the crazier and more agressive ones. Come to think of it, that seems to be a pretty general principle everywhere. I'm happy to know you are still on the planet, and would be happy to have an opportunity to see you again. My email address is broslyn@bayberrylane.ca - if you'd like to get in touch. Bernadine. Oh $%#^$# now I don't know how to say who I am, even though I'm listed as a contributor.
Oh heck Rhondda, I remembered you right away. I think I may even have a photograph of you at the Peterborough Examiner strike. I'll have to check. I recall a red and black checkered lumberjack shirt, though most of us had one of those... I'll keep you posted.
Hi Gary. Yes, I remember going to that strike. I still have my old Wobbly song book too. It was the place I realized that cops are not our friends. Rhondda
this is one of a few photos I have been given of the last meeting.

ReplyDeleteNow that's very cool, Rhondda. I've just dug out my old Wobbly songbook... a little worn and tattered, but aren't we all?
