Road Hockey Warriors!
Okay, here we go with the Dumont Reunion Photo Contest for the month of May! Hopefully, this one will be a bit easier, but who knows for sure... Here are the key questions:
1. Who are the five people in the photograph?
2. When and where did this friendly little competition take place?
3. Who else was playing that afternoon (pick two out of a possible four other players in attendance)?
4. What was the final score?
Entries should be posted by May 25, but the Comments page is open now for rampant speculation. The entry with the best possible answers will receive a lovely print from the 1991 Dumont Reunion. No restrictions on this one, everyone can enter... even Philip and Bruce! By the way, you can click on the photo (or any photo on the blog) to see a larger version.

You call that a road?! Looks more like a parking lot to me!...
ReplyDeleteParticipants in the photo are Peter Lang, Rosco Bell, Peter Warrian, John Stafford and Notes. It was the Spring of 69 in the parking lot just down from 192 King St. Also playing were Brian Switzman and Rod Hay. The final score would have had to have been a Camp Columbia tie, so 11-11.
ReplyDeleteI would have named everyone correctly, although I hesitated, because Notes looked smaller than I remembered him, although of course I recognized the vest.
ReplyDeleteAll right!! And Notes jumps in with a slam-dunk entry right off the hop! Go Notes go! You're right on with three of the four questions (love that Camp Columbia score!), but you missed the mark on time and place. Although many memorable (and forgotten) road hockey games were played in that parking lot down the street from 192, this was another venue. Let's see if someone can narrow that down.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Brian and Roddy were indeed in attendance that Saturday afternoon. Wonder if anyone can name the other two players?
It looks like Silver Lake and the footbridge in the background, but the whole area has been altered, so I'm not sure exactly.
